A CYCLIST has been airlifted to hospital after suffering serious head injuries following a collision with a car.
The incident, which happened just before 4pm on the A143 near Great Barton, resulted in the road being closed in both directions for three hours.
The cyclist, a man aged in his 60s, sustained serious head injuries and was airlifted to Cambridgeshire’s Addenbrookes Hospital. The car driver was uninjured, but suffered shock.
The A143 was re-opened to traffic shorlty after 7pm.
