Three men are due before magistrates this morning charged with producing cannabis after the discovery of a large haul in Suffolk.

Police executed a drugs warrant at industrial units in a Dallinghoo farm on Wednesday February 5 and found three storage areas full of cannabis plants.

More than 200 plants, at various levels of maturity, and a further quantity of cannabis, with a total value estimated at tens of thousands of pounds, were seized along with growing equipment.

Stephen Bell, 45, of Constance Close in Witham, Ian Finley, 50, from St John’s Road in Clacton-on-Sea, and Bernard Newman, 42, of Main Road, Frating, near Colchester, were arrested on various dates in February as police investigated the find.

All three have now been charged with producing the drug and are due before South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court this morning.
