A north Essex MP has quickly moved to deny claims he is moving to a new mystical party after an unusual post appeared on his Twitter account.
Followers of Douglas Carswell, MP for Clacton, on the social media site were left baffled when he tweeted inviting people to play Hello Kitty World with him earlier today.
However the country’s first elected UKIP MP quickly denied claims he was playing the game while on Parliamentary business, explaining his daughter had accidentally sent the tweet while using his iPad.
He tweeted: “Oooops! That’s the last time I leave the five year old in charge of the iPad.”
Mr Carswell took the mishap in his stride, and even added in a follow-up post: “But it is a great game!”
