A STAR of the hit BBC television series Ashes to Ashes will take to the air waves in Suffolk to support the Treehouse Appeal.
Philip Glenister, better known as the series’ DCI Gene Hunt, will go live on air on BBC Radio Suffolk at 9.10am tomorrow to launch an auction of a script of the cult show’s last-ever episode, signed by the entire cast, in aid of East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) appeal.
Famed for his punchy one-liners and hard-drinking, DCI Hunt was one of the best-known faces in the popular series. Mr Glenister and Keeley Hawes, who played his sidekick DI Alex Drake in the show, have signed the script, which will be auctioned live on air tomorrow.
Bids will be taken until 12.30pm and all money raised will go to help complete a new 3million hospice off Bixley Road in Ipswich to care for life-threatened children and their families. To make a bid, call 01473 212121.
