THE Dean of St Edmundsbury Cathedral was last night comfortable after undergoing an operation for a brain tumour.
The Very Rev Neil Collings became the Dean of St Edmundsbury in September 2006 when he moved to Suffolk from Exeter.
On Thursday, Mr Collings was admitted to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge for an operation.
A spokesman for the diocese said he was “comfortable” after the operation and was still at Addenbrooke's.
He urged members of the public to keep him in their prayers and if anybody wished to pass on messages of support they are asked to go through the cathedral office rather than the hospital.
