The Bury St Edmunds man and Long Melford woman who died on Thursday have been formally identified as Oliver Ruse and his wife Deborah Ruse.

Mr Ruse, 37, of Ruse and Sons Butcher’s, in Long Melford, fell from the multi-storey car park on Parkway, Bury St Edmunds.

Investigations into his death led police to Park Terrace, in Little St Mary’s, Long Melford, where they found the body of Deborah, 39, known as Debbie locally.

The couple, who were living apart at the time, have four children aged six to 11.

Police confirmed are treating the death of Debbie as suspicious, whilst the death of Mr Ruse is being treated as unexplained.

Debbie Ruse, orignally from Zambia, was found in long Melford shortly after 2.40pm on the Thursda and a police cordon remains in place at the address in Park Terrace.

Police are carrying out further investigations in to the cause of death.
