COASTGUARDS sprung into action following reports that a dingy with a person onboard was blown off the beach in Felixstowe.
Thames Coastguard received a 999 call from a member of the public at 12.50pm yesterdayto report that a person in an inflatable dinghy had been blown into the sea.
The Felixstowe Coastguard team and the Volunteer patrol boat were sent to the scene but the casualty managed to swim ashore unaided. He did not need any medical attention and safety advice was given.
A few hours later, at 3.15pm, the Suffolk Council Patrol boat towed a broken down motor boat Octopus back to Suffolk Yacht Harbour in Levington, which had two people onboard.
