A dog was freed by firefighters last night after getting impaled on a metal spike.The animal was freed from the spike in Normanston Road, Lowestoft, after firefighters were called to the scene near a disused railway line at just before 10.

The animal was freed from the spike in Normanston Road, Lowestoft, after firefighters were called to the scene near a disused railway line at just before 10.30pm.
A fire service spokesman said the animal was released but was unable to say whether it survived its ordeal.
