A DRINK-driver who killed a 20-year-old Stowmarket man in a head-on crash was jailed for five-and-a-half years today.
Nicholas Kemp was driving his Citroen C5 on the wrong side of the road on a blind bend when his car hit a Ford Focus driven by Aiden Jones, of Orwell Road.
At Kemp's sentencing at Ipswich Crown Court today it emerged that the 36-year-old, of Eastward Place, Stowmarket, had also been convicted of drink driving in 2000 after colliding with another car on a blind bend in Kent.
During last year's crash on May 1 two passengers in Mr Jones' car were also injured in the fatal crash at Badley hill on the B1113 between Needham Market and Stowmarket. A 15-year-old girl in Kemp's car was also hurt.
Kemp, who had also taken amphetamines on the night, pleaded guilty in December to death by careless driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
In addition to today's prison sentence he was given a five-year disqualification from driving.
