A MOTORIST has had a lucky escape after his car overturned in an accident on the border of Suffolk and Essex.

Emergency services, including the Essex Air Ambulance, were called to the crash at 3.40pm at Brantham Hill, Cattawade, near Manningtree.

Initial reports suggested three people had been injured in the accident although just one person - a local man in his early 40s - needed treatment for cuts and bruises.

The driver of the blue Audi A4 was then taken to Colchester General Hospital by land ambulance to be checked over as a precaution.
