Driver trapped after accident

Firefighters were called on to free a driver trapped in a vehicle after a crash near Stoke Bridge in the heart of Ipswich. The road was closed to traffic, causing major problems in the Waterfront area of the town.

FIREFIGHTERS were called to release a trapped woman from her vehicle after a crash near Stoke Bridge in the heart of Ipswich this afternoon.

Recovery of the Rover car near the Punch and Judy pub on Grafton Way caused major problems in the Waterfront area of the town.

Police initially had to close off the road while emergency services dealt with the crash, which happened at 3.26pm.

The woman, in her 40s, was taken to Ipswich Hospital for the treatment of minor neck injuries.
