MILDENHALL Fen Tigers roared back to the top of the National League with an emphatic win over arch rivals Rye House.

It was a welcome return to form for Mark Thompson as he reeled off three heat wins in an impressive 12+2 point haul only being beaten once by an opposing rider it was also pleasing to see David Mason among the point contributing 11+1

The match started of with a couple of drawn heats but then the Fen Tigers hit the front with a 5 1 from Thompson and the again impressive Joe Jacobs and never looked back from there.

There was again good team riding on display with the experienced riders Thompson, Mason and Barrie Evans helping out and sheparding home the younger riders in their heats respectively.

With all the home riders either winning or being paid for a win it was certainly a confidence boosting meeting which Team Boss John Adams was satisfied with.

He said: “I was pleased for the team and for Mark Thompson and Dave Mason as they showed me what I need on a weekly basis from them but now we must show this form away from West Row if we want to succeed in our aim of reaching the end of season play offs.”

Mildenhall now have a wait of three weeks with their next fixture not until Sunday May 31st against local rivals King Lynn in the National League, The Funky Catering Fen Tigers will be looking to avenge their cup exit to the Barracudas earlier this season.
