Firefighters carry out specialist rescue of injured man on Essex warehouse walkway

Firefighters and specialist crews rescued a man who had injured himself in a large warehouse in north Essex this morning.
Essex County Fire and Rescue crews from Colchester together with its urban search and rescue team were called to the building in High Street, Mistley, at around 7.50am.
The man had fallen from a ladder onto a walkway in the warehouse, which was around 10ft above ground level.
He was assessed by the High Access Rescue Team and placed onto a stretcher before crews used rescue ropes to lower him to the ground, where he was left in the care of the ambulance service at 9.10am.
