An investigation is under way this morning after man suffered burns to his head and neck when a dust explosion happened at a malting plant in Essex.
Two fire crews and paramedics were sent to Bairds Malt, in Witham, at about 2.05am today.
Firefighters reported that a 67-year-old man had suffered burns and they gave him first aid treatment until paramedics arrived.
The firefighters used one hose reel to tackle the fire ion a factory unit – it was brought under control at about 3.05am.
A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service said: “A fire investigation will be carried out to establish the cause.”
