Two sailors were rescued after their cabin cruiser suffered engine failure and was pushed on to rocks at Brightlingsea.
The RNLI lifeboat crew from Clacton was called to the incident just before noon on Tuesday.
Clacton RNLI’s Atlantic 75 inshore lifeboat was called but the sailors had made their way off the rocks by the time the vessel arrived.
Brightlingsea Harbourmaster towed the vessel away and the lifeboat was back at its station just before 1pm.
