A MAN has been arrested after a motorcyclist was killed in a road crash in east Essex this afternoon.
The collision happened in Latchingdon, when a blue Honda CBR and a blue Vauxhall Corsa struck each other on Burnham Road shortly after midday.
The rider, a man in his 60s and from the Maldon area, was certified dead at the scene.
An 18-year-old man, also from the Maldon area, was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He is currently being questioned by road policing officers at a police station in mid-Essex.
A section of the road was closed for around four hours while forensic collision investigators carried out enquiries at the scene.
Anyone with information in connection with the crash is urged to contact investigating officers at Essex Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit on 101.
