Essex: Seaside fires keep crews busy

A 65-year-old man suffered burns after an incident at a beach hut on the seafront at Frinton-on-Sea.

Firefighters were called to deal with a canister at the hut at around 1.35pm today.

The crews administered first aid to the casualty, and he was then placed in the care of the ambulance service.

Meanwhile, crews from Clacton and Weeley were called to a fire in public toilets at Garden Road, Jaywick, at 4.22pm.

Crews wore breathing apparatus and used one hose reel to extinguish the fire by 4.31pm.
