A WOMAN has been charged after a dog bit two police horses while they were on patrol in the Broomfield area of Chelmsford.
The 34-year-old dog owner from Chelmsford has been charged with having a dog dangerously out of control in a public place.
She has been released on police bail to appear before magistrates in Chelmsford on February 9.
Essex Police horses Bella and Biscuit on January 12 were injured after the incident but are now recovering well.
Both riders, Pc Frank Pallett and Pc Sarah Fiske, were thrown from the horses, but were uninjured.
