Three children have been given safety advice after they got into difficulties while sailing on the River Colne.
Thames Coastguard was informed by parents that they could not see the children, who were in a small sailing dinghy, just before 2pm on Wednesday.
Clacton Lifeboat and Clacton RNLI were sent to search for the children, who it is believed are experienced sailors, and they were found near Alresford Creek.
The children and their parents were then given safety advice.
