EXPLOSIVE experts have been called to a Suffolk beach after reports that a large flare had been found by a member of the public.
The phosphorous flare, believed to belong to the Americans who had been in the area a few days before, was spotted on the beach at Walberswick in the north of the county, at about 9.20am on Friday.
The Aldeburgh Coastguard and the Joint Service Explosive Ordnance Disposal (JSEOD) team attended
and the device was removed.
It was later destroyed in a safe location at Orford.
