FIREFIGHTERS are battling a blaze which has engulfed farm buildings this evening.
The fire broke out at Blue Gates Farm in Alresford, near Colchester at around 8.15pm.
Three crews from Colchester and Wivenhoe fire stations are at the scene tackling the flames, which have taken hold of a range of farm buildings, measuring 30m by 40m.
An officer at the scene said half the buildings are “well alight.”
By 8.50pm the fire crews had created a fire break and firefighters were fighting the flames and preventing them from spreading any further.
