Firearms officers went to a house in Suffolk after customers at a pub reported seeing a man with a gun in the waistband of his trousers, a court has heard.
The weapon, which turned out to be an air pistol, looked like a real gun and the men who were shown it by 54-year-old Herman Crouch were so worried they contacted police, Ipswich Crown Court heard.
Firearms officers went to an address in Newmarket where Crouch was staying and entered the premises with a key, said Christopher Paxton, prosecuting.
Crouch was compliant and accepted he had taken an air pistol into the Palomino pub in Valley Way, Newmarket.
Mr Paxton said Crouch hadn’t acted in a threatening manner towards anyone in the pub.
Crouch, 54, of Emmanuel Close, Mildenhall admitted affray on April 28 and was jailed for six months. Mark Roochove, for Crouch, said his client had ten children and had been in custody since April 28.
