AN elderly man was given first aid by firefighters following a fire in a shelter accommodation block.
Fumes from the mans cooking set off the automatic smoke alarm at Mays Court, off Garrison Lane, in Felixstowe.
Fire crews arrived at midday and helped ventilate the flat.
The man was offered oxygen therapy and an ambulance was ordered.
