TWO members of Eddie Maher’s family, arrested in connection with the theft of nearly £1.2million from outside a Felixstowe bank in 1993, have been re-bailed by police today.

Maher’s partner Deborah Brett, 47, and his sister Margaret Francis, 64, were detained in December by Suffolk detectives in Eastbourne on suspicion of conspiracy to steal and assisting an offender.

They were released on bail until this afternoon, when they had to report to Martlesham police investigation centre. They have now been re-bailed until March 22.

The theft, which Maher has denied, occurred outside Lloyds Bank in Hamilton Road, Felixstowe, on January 22, 1993.

Maher is due to stand trial on March 4.

The former Securicor guard was arrested in Ozark, Missouri, in February last year.
