TWO men arrested during a crackdown by police on motoring offences have today been bailed.

The two 20-year-olds from Felixstowe were arrested on suspicion of possession of cannabis with intent to supply, during Operation Mermaid at the Port of Felixstowe yesterday.

A total of 45 vehicles were checked and the pair were arrested and taken to Ipswich police station for questioning.

A Suffolk police spokeswoman said they have been released on police bail while inquiries continue.

They are to return to the police station in Elm Street at 1pm and 2pm on April 26.
