A LARGE field fire that broke out close to a busy road junction outside Ipswich has caused rush hour traffic chaos around the town.
Four fire crews fought back the flames for more than an hour as smoke filled the air around the Copdock A12 interchange in the West of the town and queues of traffic built up.
The blaze, which covered an area of about 500 metres by 100 metres, was reported to the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service at just after 3.30pm this afternoon and crews from Princes Street and the service's headquarters were sent to the scene.
Firefighters use two hose reels, one jet, two backpack sprayers and beaters to extinguish the flames, which were out by 4.45pm.
