One crew from Sudbury were sent to the scene on Windham Road this morning at 7.56am.
A fire alarm at the Nestle Purina Petcare factory alerted fire services to a small blaze in an overheated milling machine.
Upon arrival, firefighters worked with engineers to inspect the machine, putting out the fire with a CO2 fire extinguisher.
Crews left just after 9.20am.
