FIRE crews worked to tackle a blaze that had taken hold of a double decker bus in the early hours of this morning.
FIRE crews worked to tackle a blaze that had taken hold of a double decker bus in the early hours of this morning.
The fire, which is being treated as suspicious, broke out on Unity Street near to Myrtle Street at around midnight.
Crews were called to a business premises, First Call Tradings, where they discovered the vehicle alight.
Watch manager at Princes Street fire station Nigel Vincent said the blaze had completely destroyed the bus.
He said: “The fire was very well established. Both decks of the bus were burnt through from the lower deck. The floor and the roof are no more. The fire completely destroyed the bus.”
Firefighters tackled the flames for around half-an-hour, bringing the incident under control by 12.31am.
