A BLAZE in the first floor of an antiques shop was tackled by four fire crews in the early hours of this morning.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue were called at 3.15am to the scene at The Stables, in Hall Street, Long Melford.
A fire had taken hold on the first floor of the shop, engulfing the building in smoke.
Long Melford firefighters were joined by colleagues from Sudbury, Clare and Bury St Edmunds, battling flames in the 10 by 15 metre property for three-quarters-of-an-hour, before finally declaring the area safe again shortly after 4am.
They used breathing gear and one hose in dealing with the blaze, which reportedly started in a heater. No one was injured in the fire.
