A garage fire at a home in Chelmondiston was extinguished by crews this evening.

One crew from Princes Street, Ipswich, and another from Holbrook were sent to the scene in Main Road at 6pm.

On arrival they found a small fire in the garage and, wearing breathin apparatus, used one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

A thermal imaging camera was used to check the garage for any further ‘hot spots’ which could alight in the garage.

Both crews had returned to the stations by just after 7pm.
