AN investigation is underway after a huge heath fire on the outskirts of Ipswich was extinguished by fire crews.
Six fire engines were called to Rushmere Heath at around 3.40pm today.
When they arrived they found an area of heath measuring 400 square metres well alight.
They were able to put out the blaze by 5.30pm but stayed on site to dampen down the area.
Crews were expected to leave the scene at around 9pm. They said they were treating the blaze as suspicious.
