Firefighters from Wickhambrook and Clare tackled a kitchen fire in Cowlinge this afternoon.
Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service were notified of the incident at 2.45pm.
On arrival crews used breathing apparatus and a hosereel to extinguish a washing machine that was on fire.
The fire was under control at 3.11pm.
One casualty was left in the care of the ambulance.
