FIREFIGHTERS are currently battling two large scale straw blazes.
At just before 11.25am today, fire crews from across Suffolk were called to a field in Wenhaston.
Initial reports suggested that one combine was alight and that flames had spread to eight acres of straw.
Meanwhile, at 12.18am firefighters were then called to a field in Bury St Edmunds after three hectares of straw and a baling machine was found well alight.
A spokeswoman for Suffolk Fire and Rescue said that both incidents were still ongoing.
