Plans unveiled to upgrade part of A14 to a motorway

Highways England revealed plans to have 18 miles of the A14 classified as a motorway once upgrades have been completed. The move is set to create an unbroken motorway link between London and Peterborough - Highways England hope that the changes will bring economic and safety benefits. Residents of a new housing estate in Framlingham were left shocked after receiving letters from the council telling them that their homes don’t have full planning permission. A meeting will be held on September 20 to decide what to do about the 95 properties in Mount Pleasant. We speak to the residents to get their reaction.

Changes to Suffolk’s policing model get the go ahead

Plans to cut Suffolk police community support officers by almost half have been approved. This means that the number of PCSOs will go from 81 full-time posts to 48.

New gym set to open in Ipswich

A new gym will be opening its doors on September 23 in Ipswich next to the Suffolk Food Hall. The gym will be called CrossFit Orwell and will have three different classes conditioning, weightlifting and CrossFit as well as gym machines and equipment. The venue will be open seven days a week and will cost £70 a month.

Greene King is set to call time on more than 100 pubs this year however is launching a new one in Ipswich. The Chestnut Tree Farm will be located on Donald Mackintosh Way, near the Copdock Interchange, in order to catch the passing commuter trade. The new pub is being branded as a Farmhouse Inn with a carvery concept.
