ESSEX fire crews were quick to extinguish a flat fire before it could spread.
Two Witham crews were called to Shortridge Court, where a flat had become heavily smoke logged by the fire.
The blaze broke out in the ground floor flat at around 9pm on Tuesday, filling the property with smoke.
No one was injured and crews used a single hose to get the flames under control by 9.15pm.
