A Suffolk festival’s first patrons have scooped a live performance award ahead of their appearance at this year’s event.

The Young’uns. patrons of the FolkEast Festival, were voted ‘best live act’ at the Spiral Earth awards.

The Teesside three-piece were also among four acts up for ‘best group’ at yesterday’s BBC Radio Two Folk Awards, at Cardiff’s Millennium Centre.

FolkEast organiser, Becky Marshall-Potter said: “We are very excited to have such a highly-acclaimed group as our patrons.”

The Young’uns will perform and run workshops during FolkEast, at Glemham Hall, on August 21, 22 and 23. FolkEast also presents The Young’uns, at Aldeburgh Jubilee Hall on May 12, on their new album tour.
