Tax officials have halted a bid to make former Ipswich Town footballer Titus Bramble bankrupt.
A lawyer representing Her Majesty’s Revenue and Customs (HMRC) withdrew a bankruptcy petition at a specialist court hearing in London on Tuesday after telling a judge that a debt had been paid.
No detail of the amount involved emerged at the hearing.
The 36-year-old defender, who played for Ipswich, Colchester, Newcastle, Wigan and Sunderland and made nearly 300 Premier League appearances during a 13-year career, was not at the hearing but was represented by a lawyer.
Bramble, who began his career with the Blues, signed a one-year deal with Stowmarket Town in August of last year.
