Hundreds of free copies of the “beautifully illustrated” 52-page Official Framlingham Town Guide have been hand-delivered by a team of keen local cyclists to many addresses across the town.

Produced “with new passion and personality” by two local businesses, the guides contains information about “fun Fram stuff” for all ages to enjoy, a directory of useful contacts and interesting facts about the town.

Lindsay Want, director at Xtrahead Marketing, which produced the guides in partnership with Sally and Jem Seeley, the graphic design team at Drab Ltd, said the project had been “a truly bespoke job” from “design to delivery”.

“Our mental cogs started whirring before Christmas and, physically, the wheels have only just stopped turning with the delivery of the last few copies to local properties,” she said.

“Framlingham has such character and simply masses to offer in itself and from its doorstep too.

“We wanted to capture the spirit of the place in so many ways; to highlight it as a hub, as a great place to live, work and enjoy and to celebrate its precious balance of town and country.”

It is hoped the guides, which are produced every three years, will offer “something worth holding onto and sharing with visitors”.

Special inclusions in the latest edition include features on walks and sporting opportunities, a children’s puzzle corner, historical facts and information on local charities, clubs and societies as well as networks for local businesses.

Carolyn Youngs, chairman of Framlingham Town Council, said she was “excited” by the new publication.

“We are delighted with the new guide, especially as it has been created, produced, written and edited by two local businesses.

“I think it shows that, in Framlingham, we have all the facilities needed for a thriving community, from the independent retail outlets and the excellent educational establishments through to the history that surrounds the town. I am sure that people will be as excited as I am with this new format.”

Copies of the guide have been delivered to addresses throughout Framlingham. Further copies are available from the town council office in Riverside or from Framlingham Library in Bridge Street.
