Free parking will be offered in Stowmarket for the Christmas light switch-on event and the annual festive craft fayre, it has been announced.
Mid Suffolk District Council says parking in all six car parks in the town – Bury Street, Union Street, Milton Road, Ipswich Street, Meadow Centre and Iliffe Way – will be free from 3pm tomorrow for the light switch-on.
Free parking will also be available all day on Saturday, December 9, for the Stowmarket Christmas Craft Fayre.
Gerard Brewster, Mid Suffolk District Council’s cabinet member for economy, said: “With the festive season nearly upon us, we wanted to do something to help our local traders in and around Stowmarket during their busiest time.
“The town has so much to offer visitors and we hope this will encourage people into the town so they can see for themselves what a fantastic range of shops and restaurants we have here in Stowmarket.”
