Rendlesham Forest was the scene of a 5km fun run and walk in honour of charities supporting fallen solders in conflict.
A record number of people had registered for The People’s Run 2 Remember which took place yesterday from 10am and replaced last year’s Poppy Run.
From club runners seeking personal bests to infants having fun in the autumnal conditions, Hana Ballard, spokeswoman for organisers Suffolk Costal District Council, said the event went well.
“I know ahead of the event we had almost 140 registered and with people turning up on the day it would have pushed that up to about 150,” she said. “It was such a lovely day – it was dry and sunny with lots of people running in shorts and T-shirts.”
Money raised will go to ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, RAF Benevolent Fund, Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity and Scotty’s Little Soldiers.
