BARE trees stripped of their autumn colours were this morning coated in a glistening layer of brilliant white frost.
As the sun rose it gave off an almost purple glow, creating a magical winter wonderland feel.
The stunning scenes left behind after what weather forecasters are describing as the coldest night of the year inspired our iwitness reporters to grab their cameras and capture these glorious images.
