RESIDENTS continue to bask in the Mediterranean heat wave today as temperatures in the region hit the high twenties.
It is expected to reach 28C today and tomorrow as the warm front pushes up from Italy and south of France.
There will be some respite on Thursday and Friday night, with heavy rain and thunderstorms predicted.
People have been making the most of the sunny weather with day trips to the coast and local parks.
A spokesperson for Weatherquest said: “Suffolk, particularly the western part, and west Essex will see temperatures of 26-28c this week.
“It will feel very humid and very warm.
“The coast will look a little cloudy, but will get sunnier as you head further inland.
“Thursday and Friday night we will start to see heavy showers moving in from the west. There will be no respite at night, as it will be a very warm 13C.”
