THOUSANDS of people soaked up the sunshine and enjoyed a fun family day out at the Party in the Park in Sudbury.
The free day at Belle Vue Park was aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle and wellbeing with many clubs and societies demonstrating their activities and encouraging people to join up.
Town clerk Sue Brotherwood said: “I have never seen the park so busy - it has been packed all day and we have had thousands of people attending.
“It has been a fantastic event and shows why we need to keep all of this park for the community to use.
“We need more days like this.”
Children took part in bowls coaching with Sudbury Bowls Club, and also golf, tennis and basketball, and the climbing wall was busy all day.
The Suffolk Samba Dance Group from Ipswich gave a colourful display, and other attractions included line dancing, Kuk Sool Won, karate, keep fit, BMX and skateboarding displays, sumo wrestling, face painting, circus skills and puppet theatre, and medieval cooking demonstrations.
In the evening a series of bands involved with the Amplifier Music project played.
