They were joined by Commonwealth Games gold medallist sprinter Leon Baptiste and Lloyds TSB athlete Joshua Bain.

The pair led the youngsters through a series of Olympic-themed activities, harnessing the legacy of the London 2012 games to inspire a generation to take up sport.

Leon Baptiste, said: “It has been fantastic. These pupils have been truly inspired by the Games and National School Sport Week and are eager to continue the celebrations and try out new sports.”
