THE snow arrived at the perfect time for most school children - giving them a whole weekend of snow fun.

Our ever-keen iwitnesses were also delighted by the fresh snow that fell on Saturday and Sunday, giving them plenty of time to get out with their cameras and capture this Arctic weather front.

David Edwards used the user-led site to share his photos of St Margarets Church, in Ipswich. Snow covered the eaves of the historical church, creating a perfect Christmas card scene.

While another iwitness captured a discarded Christmas tree draped in snow.

In Westerfield, the pond froze over and roads were difficult to pass, but it did not stop iwitness Graeme Crissell taking his camera out and recording the scenes.

Others were keen to share images of their dogs out in the snow, some wrapped in brightly coloured jackets to keep the chill out.

In Essex, Peter Bash was weary of snow bulls as he went for a walk in Stisted, while photographer Andrew Partridge captured an almost deserted Castle Park in Colchester with the roundabout spinning but no-one riding it.
