HUNDREDS of pupils from across the county took part in a Big Bang science and engineering event at West Suffolk College.
Youngsters from nine middle and upper schools fired rockets, used thermal imaging cameras and learnt about molecular gastronomy during a day of interactive sessions to promote STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths).
The event, which also coincided with National Science and Engineering Week, had more than 144 interactive sessions.
A spokewoman for the college said the day had a particular emphasis on encouraging girls and young women into engineering and was a good opportunity for young people to see what the college offers.
