A HIT and run driver is being hunted by police after a 12-year-old girl was knocked down in a Suffolk village.

The youngster suffered bruising in the incident close to the Culford Road roundabout in Fornham St Genevieve, near Bury St Edmunds, on Monday afternoon.

Police have issued an appeal for witnesses following the fail-to-stop road traffic collision on the B1106 revealing the motorist was driving a blue, dented saloon car which then sped off towards neighbouring Fornham All Saints.

The driver is described as male, white, of medium build, around 30 years old with a goatie beard and moustache. He was wearing a green t-shirt and blue baseball cap.
