The grandmother of a three-year-old Suffolk toddler who was killed after being thrown from an inflatable trampoline has said the family is still coming to terms with what happened.
Ava-May Littleboy, Somersham, near Ipswich, was taken to hospital following the incident at Gorleston Beach on Sunday but later died.
Her grandmother, Angela Littleboy, told BBC Radio Suffolk: “I think we are all just still so very numb.
“It doesn’t seem right, it’s not fair, it’s not the order of things, it’s not the way things are supposed to go.
“But we have been talking about lots, and there are a lot of little things that make us laugh and a lot of things that make us cry.”
In a tribute to Ava-May, released on Monday, her family said: “She was not your ordinary little girl, as anyone she met, she would leave a lasting impression on.
“Anyone that met her would not want to forget her. Her infectious laugh and smile could light up even the darkest of rooms.”
A JustGiving page, set up to raise money for a bench in memory of Ava to be put in her local park in Somersham, has already reached more than £9,000.
