POLICE are appealing for the drivers of two cars caught up in a road accident to come forward as they may hold vital witness information.

The vehicles were driving behind a Goff petrol tanker when it was struck by a HGV lorry which lost its wheel. The incident happened yesterday at about 1.20pm on the A120 near Great Bromley and caused the road to be closed for several hours.

Fortunately nobody was injured.

The driver of the foreign registered HGV has been reported to VOSA for driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition and received a fixed penalty notice.

Police are keen to speak to the drivers of the two cars that were behind the tanker at the time.
