Police are carrying out an investigation after crews tackled a flat fire.
A home in Moreland Court, in Glenway Close, Great Horkesley was said to be “well alight” when crews arrived on scene at about 1.40am this morning.
The second floor of the flat was on fire and crews wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels.
They had the fire under control just after 2am. Firefighters then used a thermal image camera to check for any remaining hotspots and ventilated the property of smoke.
Crews from Colchester and Wivenhoe attended.
